Indian Head Massage
IHM originates from Ayurveda an ancient Indian system of medicine which focuses on balancing the mind, body and spirit. It has been practised for at least 4000 years and is an integrated part of Indian culture and family life.
The massage works on the upper back, shoulders, neck, ears, scalp and face whilst the clients remains seated. I use many different massage techniques to help release tensions built up in the upper body. It's a wonderful way to get rid of tension that is so often held in this area of the body and can be implemented almost anywhere.
Benefits include: reduces stress, relieves headaches and eye strain, improves muscle tone in all treated areas, improves circulation of the scalp which promotes hair growth, muscular and nervous tension is reduced thus improving circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids.
IHM works on the upper four chakras: heart, throat, brow and crown.
