Pregnancy & Post Natal Massage

Picture
 Pregnancy Massage
This relaxing massage helps to alleviate strain and pressure on the joints, ligaments and organs. It is of great benefit to both the mother and her unborn child. The massage brings a sense of calmness which enables her to release endorphins which are passed onto the baby.
Preparing for the birth of a baby is a very exciting time. It can also be stressful. Regular massages during pregnancy help the mother to become more aware of her body.
Complications are less likely to occur during pregnancy and labour. She is more likely to be able to relax more during the 1st stage of labour which can result in shorter, easier births, less pain and a lower rate of postnatal complications. It can also lead to increased breast feeding success as prolactin and mammary development increase.
I create a stress-free environment using high quality oils and towels. This service also provides monitoring support for ongoing massages. This is with the client and her health care professional. An initial free consultation helps me to understand what my clients requirements are.
Please note that pregnancy massage cannot be carried out in the first trimestre (12 weeks).

Post Natal Massage
It is every woman's relief and delight when after 9 months of pregnancy,  she goes through a successful delivery. I always remember the magical moment when I held my  healthy baby for the first time.
However this experience can affect the entire body where there is a  recovery process for the new mother to restore her body to its normal shape.
Post natal massage can assist in alleviating fatigue, anxiety and body aches. It also allows for time out for the new mother to relax and breath as she will be having to deal with a bunch of new responsibilities in her life. Therefore the massage not only supports the physical body but it also reduces stress supporting any emotional issues.
